Creating the Fog
Although I have already created the seamless fog images for you, it is important to know how to create your own. I used photoshop to create mine but you can create identical results using the free equivalent, Gimp. For the image to tile seamlessly, the height and width of the canvas must be a multiple of 128. Square or rectangle, it does not matter. Here I will use 512x256. Now, first apply the Difference Clouds filter.
In Photoshop click Filter, then Render and then Difference Clouds. In Gimp click Filters, then Render, then Clouds and then Difference Clouds. This will generate a random cloud like pattern.

The next step is too increase contrast and decrease the brightness. Not too much, just a little...

Now in MMF2, create an active object the same width and height as your difference clouds image and fill it the desired colour of your fog. I'm using black here, but in for the tutorial objects, I used a greenish grey colour.

Now click the Transparency button (it looks like a little fish) and select Alpha Channel . Enable Show and Edit and paste in your difference clouds image.

Click ok and you are done.

An alpha channel is a grayscale image which stores transparency information about another image. Black represents fully transparent, white represents fully opaque and any shade in-between represent a semi transparent value.
What you see above is the original black rectangle with the alpha channel applying various transparency and semi-transparency to different areas. If you compare the object above to the alpha channel (two images above) you will see the darker regions in the alpha channel appear more transparent on the actual object.

Copy the object and you will see it can be tiled seamlessly.
